Fort Rouge Junior Curling Program

The Fort Rouge Curling Club (FRCC) Junior Program is widely known in the Winnipeg curling community as the program where young curlers are first introduced to the sport of Curling.  Our grassroots Junior Program has been in existence at our current location since the 1950’s and we continue to develop and introduce new curlers to the game.

Our Junior Program and facility provides a safe environment for young curlers to learn the game of curling, develop their skills, learn teamwork and leadership skills as well developing friendships with other young curlers.

The FRCC is known both locally and internationally as a World Class Facility, and several of the World’s most elite teams are Associates of the FRCC and practice at our facility regularly.  The Board of Directors have and continue to make significant investments into the facility.

The Details – Saturday Afternoons, 4:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

This program runs from October to April each season, with approximately 20 weeks of curling.  During the first two weeks of the season, the league Coordinator and other volunteers work directly with brand-new curlers and provide on-ice instruction to teach the basic fundamentals and the rules of the game.  Teams are then created by the Coordinator and the teams compete against one another for the regular season, followed by playoffs.  We have a Windup dinner at the end of the season where trophies and prizes are awarded to the winners.

2016-2017 Membership Fees are $100.00.
